Last night I was getting the boys ready for their nightly bath. Griffin is getting undressed and begins chattering excitedly.
Grif: Dad! I wore two pair of underwear today.
Me: Really? (not really believing him).
Grif: Yeah, that way if I have a accident, I can just take one off!
I didn't think much of it. He took off his clothes and got in the tub and I didn't pay too much attention to it. We did baths, jammies, brushed teeth, etc for our nightly bedtime routine. Steph was collecting their clothes from the bathroom and brought me Griffin's pants with both pair of underwear bundled up in them. Laughing her head off... I wish I took a picture.
He was pretty groggy yesterday morning and I put his clothes out and left him to dress himself. He must have just pulled the clean under-roos over the ones he slept in. And then proceeded to wear them both all day! To the sitters, at school, while we were carving pumpkins and didn't bother to tell anybody.

Allergies
Grif has had some problems with acid reflux for the past 3 years or so. This summer, it has been pretty bad. He was having "spitup" in his mouth 3-4 times each day. He is on Prevacid every morning and Zantac each night and was still having issues, so our primary doctor referred us to a GI specialist. The GI did an endoscopy which involved putting Grif under and sticking a camera down his throat. The evening after he had the scope, he told Steph I was going to be really mad because the doctor didn't do anything:
Grif: I was with you and dad in the bed in that room, then I took a nap and when I woke up, you and dad were there too. He didn't stick that thing down my throat.
The results of the endoscopy indicated an allergy as the likely culprit, so we went in today for a followup and extensive battery of allergy testing:
We did some testing when he was 18 months old or so. They pressed a grid on his back and we waited to see what would happen. This was far more traumatic. Every single one of those dots on his back was stuck with a needle. I had to hold him down while he was screaming and crying, begging them to stop and saying he couldn't take anymore. It was pretty rough on mom and dad as well. This is what his back looked like at 8pm tonight.
After all that, he got his flu vaccine (nasal thankfully), and then had to give three vials of blood! So there may be more to add to that list once the bloodwork comes back.
Jeeesh.

He is allergic to tree nuts, grass, ragweed, dust mites, cats (anybody want our demon Lily), hickory, oak, cottonwood, birch, sycamore, ash, elm, cocklebur, mugwort, plantain, marsh elder, SOY, PEANUT,PEAS, PORK, and ALMOND.
Holy crap! I think we are going to get him a big gerbil ball to run around in. The doc also wants us to avoid milk because this really aggravates the reflux. After all that, he got his flu vaccine (nasal thankfully), and then had to give three vials of blood! So there may be more to add to that list once the bloodwork comes back.

Spiders in the Bed
Grif got this giant hairy spider in a goodie bag. Completely on his own, he decided to hide it in Steph's pillow case to scare her.
No, I had nothing to do with it. It does make me proud though...
